Catch Up!

Wow! It's been awhile since I've written so I'm taking a time out of my Friday work day to give a little update.

We got back on Monday Tuesday from a FAST but good trip to Vermont! My Mom and Patrick put together an awesome party to celebrate John and I and our two marriages :) Yes...we've been married twice now! It was SO great to see so many people we love! My big sister Kitina even SURPRISED me with her arrival. I had been pretty upset that she wasn't going to  make it...clearly I was being fooled. The celebration was great! You know it's a good party when the cops show up! When the night ended we had three injured people: Tyler with a sprained wrist, Dexter with broken ribs and Colin with a broken big toe. How does this happen you ask? Well, you'd have to have been there. I could go on and on about the party but lets just chalk it up as a dang good time :) We have tons of pictures coming our way from our second wedding but, here are just a couple!

Normally when I write my blogs i'm curled up on the couch with a glass of wine...today i'm at work trying to think of words to say! I tried to blog last night at home but without the wine I couldn't find my words--is that bad? I've started Paleo--which is why the wine is no longer in my blogging routine. For those of you that have no clue what i'm talking about when I say Paleo read this blog. The guy that writes the blog gives all sorts of information and inspiring words to make you want to make the change! I've gained almost 30 lbs since moving to Colorado 3 years ago...they say you gain weight when you're happy? So, let's say i'm on a get a healthy mission and I'm pretty excited about it! I've lost 5 lbs in 4 days...I know it's probably water weight but it's still encouraging none the less. The idea around Paleo is to go back to "caveman" style eating...lots of meat, vegetables and fruits. Eliminating dairy, grains and processed sugars. So far the two hardest parts for me have been no creamer in my coffee and no after dinner ice cream...but I can see it getting easier! I'm working on getting John on board, it's always easier when you can do it with someone--my fingers are crossed that he'll step up and go for it!

Going back to VT always brings a wave of emotions for John and I. When we're there we wish we still lived there but when we're back home in Colorado we're so glad to be back. Who knows where we'll end up 10 years from now, but for now we have a really great life in Colorado even if we are missing some of the worlds best family and friends. Summer in Colorado is certain tough for me since there are no real bodies of water around...I know Colorado people will disagree with that BUT they haven't seen real lakes. And why is it no one in Colorado has a pool? Anyways, at the end of the day I'm glad John and I are so connected to our Roots of Vermont and i'm also equally grateful for the great life we have here in Colorado.

I'm trying to think about what else is new and worth sharing...John and I are doing a power month of house projects in hopes of re-financing our home come September and saving us ALOT of money in the long run! It's going to be a rough month of constant projects--but worth it in the long run! We're hoping to have our backsplash done this weekend and next weekend will start the scraping of our trim work outside! Anyone that feels the need to come help us, you're more then welcome we'll provide goodies! Haha--lame attempt.

Well I think I'll end the ramble there; i'm going to work on posting more and on switching up my content. As I get more into this Paleo stuff I want to share my progress and recipes etc. I will also try documenting John and I and our projects--I"m sure there will be some good laughs as well as moments of frustration.

I hope all of you are finding yourselves having a great summer--I can't believe it's August next week!!!!
