Sometimes things don't go quite as planned...

So many great things have happened this year, and I try to remember that but some days it's like a dark cloud comes over me and I can't help but loathe over the difficult things that are in my arena. Two weeks ago I was laid off and let me tell you...this is extremely difficult to bounce back from. Heck, it's tough for me to even write this right now...but it's life and I've always been pretty honest about what's going on in my life when writing this blog. I've been getting great advice from all of the people in my life and I truly do believe that everything happens for a reason, the job didn't work out because a better job is on it's way to me. I've been an interviewing machine in the last two weeks and I have a good feeling on a couple offers this week--fingers are crossed! As far as timing, I couldn't have picked a more terrible time...we're getting married in just over 7 months; being jobless when you're trying to save for a wedding=no bueno. Also, let me tell you that I really suck at being unemployed which just backs up my belief that I could never be a stay at home Mom. Being in the walls of this house for hours on end with no one to talk to but my dogs....does not work for me. Granite, I talk to the dogs constantly...i'm still waiting for them to figure out the responding part. But let's face it...i'm going to get a new job and it's not the end of the world so I will keep trudging along and make the best of this down time!

On a positive note; we got our wedding bands this week which also means that I finally have my engagement ring after 8 weeks of torture. So here is a picture, not the best quality but i'm in LOVE with my rings :) We couldn't be more happy with Perrywinkle's in Burlington, VT--they did a great job.

Oh, and thanks to John's Dad I have a working computer again! He sent me an awesome Toshiba that he had and wasn't using due to his excessive number of computers so I am one very happy girl. With that said, I've been uploading pictures and found some pics of the dogs from quite awhile ago and can't help but share them. Dakota is much larger now...but she is by no means going to be a big boxer.

Some exciting things we have coming up:

We are heading to Bozeman, Montana next weekend for the long Labor Day weekend to see my very best friend Hally Berg and her fiance Scott!!!! We could not be more excited to check out their life in Bozeman. I'll be sure to take lots of photos and share them with you guys.

We are gearing up to get engagement pics done! We decided that it's just natural to want to take them up in Estes Park where John proposed...so we'll be doing those soon!

What else....nothing else that's happening soon but we are VERY excited to be going to VT for Christmas this year. A true Bumpass Christmas with all of the family together, i'm not sure it gets any better!

I'll keep you guys posted on the job thing! Keep your fingers and toes crossed for me :)
